In November 2006, following a successful career in Computer Solutions Sales and Account Management, Nigel Tyrrell created Tyrrell Business Support Services Limited (TBSS) with a view to using the knowledge he had gained working globally in various Computer Systems Sales Consultant roles to help smaller Software Development Businesses to maximise their potential.
One of the first TBSS major clients was Defacto Solutions Limited. Defacto Solutions is a very successful Sage 500/1000 Complementary Software Developer. Defacto Solutions was at that time at a crossroads of their own, having sold part of their Software Portfolio to Sage, they needed to develop and promote a new range of complementary modules. However, Defacto Solutions owner, Alec Willis, recognised Defacto did not have any direct sales resource. The symbiotic relationship between Defacto Solutions and Tyrrell Business Support Services Limited was born.
Nearly 20 very successful years later, both companies once again find themselves at a crossroads with the impending Sage 500/1000 End of Life 31/12/2024. Although realistically there will be many existing customers that continue to use Sage 500/1000, both companies have inevitably been evolving and entering new markets.
Defacto Solutions has established a very successful Sage X3 Warehouse Management product which they currently provide in conjunction with Datel Computing, the largest Sage Reseller, which TBSS helped to initially nurture and develop. Defacto also continues to explore other software development avenues including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
At the same time as well as ensuring its existing loyal Sage 500/1000 customer base are supported through their transitions to new systems between now and 2029, TBSS will continue to promote and grow Defacto products. Both companies will approach the new opportunities with the enthusiasm with which they made The Sage 500/1000 DefCapture product such a resounding success.

Tyrrell Business Support Services Limited have been evolving and offering more and more Solution Consultancy together with their team of experts ‘Helping Clients succeed’, now with a new challenge working with customers who did not want to change their IT Solutions to find a new software solution. But the desire to help other companies like Defacto Solutions promote their solutions to a wider audience remains.
